Lock In Legacy Pricing Before It Changes
Prices for new users will go up on December 20, 2025, but early supporters will be locked into legacy pricing.
Why
Why Prices Are Changing (and How I’m Protecting Early Supporters)
Here at Answers to the ACS I’ve worked hard to keep prices low because I understand how expensive flight training already is. Prices have stayed the same since 2023 when the app was first released and do not reflect the updates in content and features that have taken place since. Over the last several years I’ve poured a huge amount of time, care, and effort into building and maintaining a product that helps fully prepare applicants for their checkride.
Most companies raise prices on all subscribers when a price change happens. I don’t think that’s fair to people who supported this early.
Additionally, the default behavior for price changes on the App Store - assuming a developer wants to keep existing subscribers at the same price - only applies to the specific subscription you keep active without interruption. If you cancel for a while or switch to a different subscription, you’re moved to the new higher pricing.
I didn’t feel that was fair either. So I took the time to set up a system to ensure that the price for all products (Private, Instrument, Commercial, etc.) — not just the one you originally subscribed to — remains at today’s rate indefinitely, as long as you subscribed to something before the cutoff date.
That means, for example, you can subscribe to Private now, take a break when you’re done, then come back later for Instrument when you’re ready, and still see the old pricing.
As the app grows with more manuals, videos, and features, new subscribers will pay the updated prices that reflect that growth. Early supporters, however, stay on legacy pricing as a long-term thank you for being here from the start.
How
How to Become an Early Supporter
-
Download the Answers to the ACS app on your iPhone or iPad
Tap the “Download on the App Store” buttons at the top of the screen on your iPhone or iPad to go to the App Store and download our app. -
(Optional) Create an account in the app
Legacy pricing is tied to your Apple ID, so you don’t need an account for it to apply. However, creating a free account simply adds an extra layer of safety and unlocks benefits like receiving important in-app messages about updates like this, signing into up to three devices, and cloud-synced bookmarks. -
Subscribe to the appropriate tier
The Private, Instrument, and Commercial tiers are for students training for that respective certificate or rating and/or preparing for that checkride. The CFI and DPE tier provides full access to the Private, Instrument, and Commercial tiers as a reference for those that work as a CFI or DPE. -
Get locked in as an early supporter
Once you subscribe before December 20, 2025 you will be locked in as an early supporter. We have a lot of new features and content in the pipeline. As more is added, prices will go up, but early supporters will stay locked in at legacy pricing.
The Fine Print
My intent is to keep legacy pricing the same for early supporters indefinitely, and I don’t have any plan to change that. However, the pricing and product structure may need to change in the future if required by the App Store, by law, or major changes in overhead costs. If I ever have to adjust legacy pricing for early supporters, I’ll communicate clearly and in advance.
